The debut album ‘Half These Songs Are About You’ was initially a soft-release only available at gigs in 2002, and features the massive hit single JCB, as well as the famous animation that accompanies the track. The album is full of gems (like live favourites ‘Call It Up’ and ‘Worry’) and displays Luke and John’s unparalleled talent for song writing and performance.

‘JCB’ reached number one in the UK and Ireland at Christmas in 2005. Selling twice as many singles as Westlife in its first week of release, the song went on to sell over half a million copies, staying in the UK top 40 for over 2 months. ‘Girls’ is the last single taken from ‘Half These Songs Are About You’. Its a ballad about the need to love, which Luke originally wrote the lyric to on the back of a napkin, featuring the heartfelt refrain “you’ve gotta love and forgive / or you can’t breathe”. It was also accompanied by an atmospheric video from sought after directors Karni and Saul, and features live favourite ‘Flooded Quarry” as a b-side.
